Care Instructions
- Dry clean only. Ask the cleaner to handle the zari gently and to avoid steam directly on the metallic threads.
- Iron on a low silk setting from the reverse side, with a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the zari.
- Store folded in a breathable cotton or muslin cloth, away from damp and direct sunlight. Plastic covers can trap moisture.
- Refold along different lines every few months so the zari does not crease permanently along one fold.
- Let perfume or deodorant dry fully before draping, and keep sprays away from the zari.
Benefits
- Strong color contrast: The green body and magenta borders stay distinct even in low evening light and in group photographs.
- Temple border along the pleats: The gold temple motifs run along the hem, so they line up across the pleats when draped.
- Blouse in the border color: The magenta blouse piece picks up the border and pallu color, and it comes unstitched for your own fit.
- Suits ceremonies: A heavy zari pallu like this one is traditionally worn for weddings, engagements and temple visits.
