Care Instructions
- Dry clean only. Ask the cleaner to handle the zari gently and to avoid steam directly on the metallic threads.
- Iron on a low silk setting from the reverse side, with a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the zari.
- Store folded in a breathable cotton or muslin cloth, away from damp and direct sunlight. Plastic covers can trap moisture.
- Refold along different lines every few months so the zari does not crease permanently along one fold.
- Let perfume or deodorant dry fully before draping, and keep sprays away from the zari.
Benefits
- Pleats that show the border: The wide gold border runs along the hem, so it frames each pleat once the saree is draped.
- Most of the work sits on the pallu: The brocade pallu shows in full when worn over the shoulder, from the front and from behind.
- A blouse cut to your size: The unstitched silk blouse piece of about 0.8 to 1.0 m lets your tailor choose the fit, sleeve and neckline.
- Made for big occasions: Maroon and gold is the classic pairing for weddings, receptions and festive pujas.
